What are the Six Kalimas?
The Six Kalimas (from Arabic word kalimah, meaning "word" or "declaration") are six basic Islamic phrases or statements of faith often taught to children and new Muslims to help them memorize the core beliefs of Islam.
While only the first Kalima (the Shahada) is an absolute requirement to enter Islam, the remaining five Kalimas compile beautiful verses from the Quran and authentic Hadiths that affirm the Oneness of Allah (Tawheed), praise Him, and seek His forgiveness.
- Kalima Tayyibah: The Word of Purity
- Kalima Shahadat: The Word of Evidence/Testimony
- Kalima Tamjeed: The Word of Majesty/Glory
- Kalima Tawheed: The Word of Oneness
- Kalima Istighfar: The Word of Penitence/Forgiveness
- Kalima Radde Kufr: The Word of Rejection of Disbelief
