Free MAC Address Vendor Lookup Online

Identify the hardware manufacturer or vendor of a network device using its MAC address.

We only need the first 6 characters (OUI) to identify the vendor, but you can enter the full address.

Free MAC Address Vendor & OUI Lookup

A Media Access Control (MAC) address is a unique identifier assigned to a network interface controller (NIC) for use as a network address in communications within a network segment. Our tool allows you to input a MAC address and instantly identify the hardware manufacturer (vendor) of the device.

How OUI Lookup Works

A standard MAC address is 48 bits long, typically formatted as six groups of two hexadecimal digits (e.g., 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E). The first 24 bits (the first 3 groups) represent the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI). This prefix is exclusively assigned to hardware manufacturers by the IEEE.

By analyzing the OUI prefix, our tool cross-references an extensive, continuously updated database to accurately determine which company built the network card (e.g., Apple, Intel, Cisco, Samsung).

Why Use a MAC Lookup Tool?

  • Network Administration: Identify unknown devices connected to your Wi-Fi or corporate network. If you see an unrecognized MAC address in your router logs, this tool tells you what kind of device it is.
  • Security & Troubleshooting: Helpful for configuring MAC filtering on firewalls and DHCP servers.
  • Inventory Management: IT professionals use it to catalog hardware devices and map physical machines to IP addresses.
