Free Ping Test & Latency Checker Online

Measure server response time (latency) and check the online reachability of a domain or IP.

Online Ping Test & Latency Checker

Our Online Ping Test is the most fundamental and reliable tool for diagnosing network connectivity. It sends ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) echo request packets to the target IP address or domain and measures the time it takes to receive a response back.

What Does The Ping Test Reveal?

  • Reachability (Uptime): If the tool successfully receives a response, it means the server is online and accessible. If it times out, the server might be down, or a firewall is blocking ping requests.
  • Latency (Response Time): The average time (in milliseconds) it takes for a data packet to travel from our server to the target and back. Lower latency means a faster connection.
  • Packet Loss: A high packet loss percentage indicates severe network congestion, faulty hardware, or a poor connection routing.

Understanding Latency (ms)

Latency is heavily dependent on the physical distance between servers. A ping under 50ms is considered excellent. Between 50ms - 150ms is acceptable for most web browsing. Anything over 200ms will feel sluggish, and over 500ms usually indicates a major routing issue or extreme geographical distance.
